Now available throughout the universe.

Elation, compulsion, exploration, love and exquisitely timed bullying, a lascivious oyster, a man called Eggplant, the dangers of smelling like honey pudding, the enticement of innocent toadlets, the unending day of deadness. The daughter of a part-time magician and a Las Vegas showgirl turns to science, destiny points a young man to brassiere design, suddenly orphaned siblings try to protect their most vulnerable, fortunes craze in neighbourhoods living cheek-by-jowl. Unintendeds abound, as life cavorts in all its unclassifiable contrariness.

"In these 26 stories, she's at her best."
- Jeffrey Ford

"On my short list of beloved idiosyncrasts, which includes R.A. Lafferty and Avram Davidson, there is still no one else the least bit like Anna Tambour."
- Marc Laidlaw

"Anna Tambour is a rogue punk-prophetess whose writings not only stray from the beaten path; some of them are so far out there that you can hear the distant drums of strange story-tribes being awakened by her prose."
- I. O'Reilly, British Fantasy Society review

Statistics: as far as we can see, Janeen is the sixth Australian to be nominated for the Best Collection award, joining Terry Dowling, Margo Lanagan (twice, and only Australian to win), Angela Slatter (twice), Shaun Tan, and Lisa L. Hannett. Ticonderoga Publications is the second Australian publisher (and first Australian small press) to publish two nominees, after Allen & Unwin. Janeen has previously won the World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology in 1999 for Dreaming Down Under, co-edited by Jack Dann.

Lucy Sussex's award-winning novel The Scarlet Rider is now available from Ticonderoga Publications.

A mystery within a mystery. Unemployed university graduate Mel Kirksley is hired to discover the author of an anonymous crime novel from the 1860s. What she finds is nothing less than a true-life detective story, a thinly described autobiographical tragedy set against the backdrop of the Gold Rush. As Mel digs deeper, the line between biographer and subject starts to fade, pulling Mel deeper into a maelstrom where past and present are thrown together.
