Ticonderoga publications was founded in 1996 by Russell B. Farr. TP made its name specialising in quality limited edition runs of short story collections. Between 1996–1999 TP produced six books: four short story collections of greater than 65,000 words; and two chapbooks of approximately 20,000 words.
Following an exceptionally productive year in 1999 where Ticonderoga published the collections New Adventures in Sci-Fi by Sean Williams, The Lady of Situations by Stephen Dedman, as well as involvement in MP Books' Antique Futures: The best of Terry Dowling, TP went into a 6 year hiatus as the editor concentrated other efforts, including the online publishing venture TiconderogaOnline.
In 2005 Ticonderoga announced the end of the hiatus, launching an impressive publishing schedule, and is looking to the future.
